  • Ross Elliott - 3rd Dan

    Ross has been performing judo for over 10 years and has worked his way onto the JFA UK national squad. He now regularly competes both in UK and international competitions, with his career highlight being winning a gold medal at the WJF World Championships in Italy. 

    As Club Judoka's lead competition instructor, Ross will push members to work hard throughout the whole session. He believes pushing yourself beyond tiredness is the way to improve your Judo to the next level. Ross is guaranteed to always bring high energy and buckets of motivation to the sessions for both children and adults. His goal being to always create an enjoyable yet action packed session. As well as bringing passion, Ross will also work with you to develop your skill set in a way that compliments your natural style.

  • Robert Elliott - 6th Dan

    2ND DAN CHOI KWANG DO

    Rob started practising judo in 1970 where he studied under various masters of the time in the UK. He received his 1st Dan in 1980, 2nd Dan in 1981, 3rd Dan in 1987 and 4th Dan in 1993.

    After a successful career in competition and becoming a county coach and committee member, Rob taught for many years at national Summer schools including the 2017 JFA Summer school in Worthing. Many of his students have had success at county level, received national medals and become national squad members.

    Since joining the JFA in 2015, Rob has been given amazing opportunities within the organisation; he was promoted to International Referee and to 5th Dan in 2017. Recently Rob has been working with JFA HQ and is very much excited about his future in Judo. In 2021 Rob also received his 6th Dan as recognition to his continued service to Judo, this was presented to him by Sampson Sampson.

    At Club Judoka you can expect to benefit from his keen eye for perfection. Rob particularly enjoys focusing on perfecting the finer details of techniques and will be on hand to offer expert advice in the club. His aim being to help member’s progress from white belts to Dan grades.
